Hi everybody! I've been checking out the site for a few months now,I finally decided to jump in! Thanks to Sam my red bz is cooking like a big dog! My stove is not pristine but it is beautiful. My son says it looks like we have a '57 chevy in our kitchen. I am not sure if the oven temp is right it is too hot in Texas to cook in the oven now. I have to have a large thermowell pot for the winter though. If chambers are so pleniful in Texas where are they? I have cookbooks and manuals from Sam that have helped so much.If anyone out there knows where to get a large pot , Please let me know. I saw one on E-Bay a couple of weeks ago,but was wandering why one person put higher bids on his own bids.Thanks Todd for starting the website, chambers stoves are so much better than the junk they make today. I can answer your Ebay question. When one person shows up more than once on the list of bids, it's because of a scenario like this:

The item's current bid is at $2. I bid $10, but the price only goes up $1 at a time, so I'm "winning" the bid at $3.

Another bidder comes along and bids $5. Because my $10 bid is already stored there, his bid immediately loses, but now I'm going to have to pay $6 for the item.

So the list of bids shows the original $2 bid, my $3 bid, and then my $6 bid. It just means that person was being bid against, and their existing bid was larger than their competition's bid.

YEAH! Another very LOCAL Texan. Welcome Joann!

Richardson here. I've been very lucky finding PLENTY of Chambers in the area. In the past year and a half, I've managed to purchase 4! 2 high back C's, 1 low back C and 1 B.

I've got the low back in pieces, cleaning, restoring, rechroming etc. One of the hugh backs is in my kitchen. The other two I purchased Sunday. Quite a deal, if I do say so myself LOL!

Yeah, your probably going to end up bidding against Jenn for that one. Not that your posting the auction here had anything to do with it.

She also seem to spend quite a bit of time scouring Ebay adds for Chambers pots that aren't listed as such.

*sigh* now that I've got 3 stove to outfit, I suppose I'll have to get a little more active in the search. I don't plan on keeping them all. I'm going to refurb/restore and then sell them. I plan on having a full set of pots for each. Or, at least a large pot and one set of smaller pots. That's why I don't plan on naming them, Belinda... must not get too attached. AS IF! LOL

Trust me, there are a lot of Chambers ranges in Texas. I'm in the Austin area, and I've collected quite a few. On the pots, I haven't found very many of them in the Austin area. I do find them on EBay, but I don't look for ones that are described as "Chambers" pots, because the price goes up when you put the name on it. I look for aluminum pots that are the right size or are only listed as "Wear-Ever." What area of Texas are you in?
